For me learning is not about showing, but it can be more than that, it's absorbing. As an English student, I'm still learning the language myself. For me, English just not about a language; it has so many rules. When we look deeper, linguistics can be really complicated. Everytime, I come to the class, I ask myself "Zara are you ready to observe?". 

I also take some time to observe my classmates' skills, which really helps me understand their learning strategies. Sometimes, I like to ask what might sound like "silly" questions. I remember once having a conversation with Addy in Pacific Ocean, Missoula. I asked, "Addy, can be rockets be recycled too?" and we both laughed. But honestly, I'm just curious person. Since, I don't know much about those things, asking questions to friends like Addy, Adibah, Andine, Homin, Dalen, or May helped me learn a lot in different ways.

Every time I come to Adibah with a question about agriculture, she always explains it with a warm smile and her humble personality. She knows so many things, and somehow, I always feel safe asking my "cute but silly" questions. I cannot help but laugh whenever we end up having a serious discussion, it just never feels too serious with her. Learning becomes so much fun when you are with someone who's smart, confident, yet wonderfully down-to-earth. Adibah has something mysterious about her: behind that quiet and secretive side, she actually holds so much knowledge! what's amazing is that she shares it only when the moment feels right. She's never stingy with what she knows, and she never looks down on anyone who doesn't. That's what makes her so effortlessly cool!

I usually ask Haomin about the simplest things, yet she never makes me feel small. She always answers with such care and wisdom. I often feel like a flower blooming in a beautiful garden whenever I learn from her, she's like a professor to me. It's true what people say: the wiser a person is, the more humble they become, just like ripened rice that bends lower. Talking to Haomin makes me feel alive, she carries so much intelligence and kindness within her and the other sweet things, Haomin said "When we meet again, you should be a PhD, Doctor Zara!" Haomin, that's so sweet, honestly I like you for many aspects. 

For me, Adibah and Haomin are the kind of people who can magically help me untangle my own crazy problems. Talking to them feels like holding a million pieces of gold, not because they make me rich, but because they make me feel rich, happy, and uderstand. They have totally different personalities but share the same positive energy. Just imagine having friends who accidentally sprinkle wisdom and kindness every time they speak, it's like free therapy with a touch of sparkle.

Now, let's talk about Addy from Malaysia. Every morning, I see her with the elegant scarf, she looks like a CEO walking into a big company, perfectly ready to lead an important meeting. Sometimes she wears a hat and her brown glasses and "Wow, this woman means bussiness... but also fashion!" Addy always jokes around with me, saying, "Girls, stop it! your husband and love!", and even as I write this, I can hear her voice in my head, hahaha. She's truly stunning woman, always bringing sharp, thoughtful questions to every class discussion. Honestly, Addy reminds me of my aunt; beautiful, confident, and just a little bit dramatic in the most fabulous way!

Beside Addy, I also very comfortable talking with Andine, my UM Fellow from Medan, North Sumatera. She always helps me in her own thoughtful way, and I often end up joking around with her, sometimes about the most trivial things, because I know she will never judge me. She is incredibly smart, especially when it comes to law and enviromental issues, yet she always knows how to stay humble and grounded wherever she goes. I still remember her saying "You have to be brave to fight, don't let anyone step on you." That sentence lives rent-free in my head, so powerful!. Andine has this wonderful mix of courage and sweetness that makes every conversation sparkle. Oh, and her adorable group and their jokes about "Love in Nature"? I swear, it feels like watching a romantic comedy set in a tropical forest, I love every second of it!

Addy and Andine have this rare talent for turning jokes into pure joy. Their laughter carries a warmth that makes everyone around them feel instantly at home, like you're exactly where you are meant to be. They have this quiet strength too; the kind of protects and uplifts the people around them without even trying. Being with them feels like standing in the sunlight; bright, safe, and full of life.

Now let's talk about Dalen, someone I truly admire for her wonderful actions and sharp mind. She's a real thinker, the kind of person who can analyze everything with incredible clarity. Dalen radiates positive energy, even when I don't understand something, she patiently explains it step by step until the lightbulb finally turns on in my head. One day she said, "Zara, why are you so quiet today? You are so different from before, now you are introvert!" Haha, Dalen maybe spending 3 days in the car with you and Airin turned me into one! But honestly, I took that as a sweet compliment because it shows how observant and caring you are. You bring such good vibes to every conversation, like sunshine with a sense of humor and playing games with you? Ouhhh, that's pure joy! I'll always remember those moments, full of laughter, chaos, and little bit of friendly competition!

And now, let's talk about May! Yep! this girl is absolutely hilarious. I swear, every time I'm with her, I end up laughing nonstop. I have finally discovered the truth even "the smartest girl can do the silliest things!" Don't worry, I've got May as my perfect partner-in-crime for all our "brilliantly dumb" adventures, especially those unforgettable moments we had in Washington, D.C. She walks so fast that I sometimes feel like I'm in a race, chasing her Vietnamese power-walking energy at 7 a.m! But behind all that chaos, May is a true researcher, the kind who observes, analyzes, and shines in every moment. Picture this: a stunning lady confidently standing at an engineering conference, surrounded by data and brilliance, that's totally her vibe, smart, funny, unstoppable and just the right amount of chaos I need in my life.

Dalen and May share a special kind of strength, they are both funny, friendly, and so easy to like. What I love most about them is how they really listen when someone is speaking. It's such a simple thing, but the way they do it makes me feel heard, respected, and appreciated. Being around them always reminds me how kindness and laughter can make any day brighter.

Being surrounded by Addy, Adibah, Andine, Haomin, Dalen and May has been one of the best parts of my learning journey. Each of them shines in their own way; Addy with her elegance and humor, Adibah with her kindness and calm spirit, Andine with her courage and wisdom, Haomin with her gentle intelligence, Dalen with her thoughtfulness and bright energy, and May with her unstopabble fun and curiosity. Together, they have taught me that learning is not just about books and theories. It is also about laughter, connections and shared moments that make every day meaningful. I feel so lucky to grow, laugh, and learn beside them.
